My #100DayProject Failure

A little over 3 months ago, I saw the 100 day project and jumped at the chance to be part of it. For me, it seemed like a great opportunity to challenge myself to put my writing pursuits to the challenge. Well I came, I saw, then I got overwhelmed and hid under the covers, watching Netflix with my dog, Abbey.

When I think about deadlines, I start creating this vacuum of pressure that stresses me out like no other. I’m already a neurotic weirdo, so it’s not surprising that I freaked out and bailed on the project. Seriously, I’m thinking about changing my middle name to Chicken Little.

I could sit here and say that my work got in the way, and getting super sick in April didn’t help me either. That said, this can mostly be chalked up to me psyching myself out. So instead of setting a timeline, I’m going to try and do my own little personal goal. My goal is to write 500 words of my novel each day. It won’t be easy, but some things are worth working hard for. 🙂
